CAdmin is a centralised management tool for all Färist units across the network, locally and remotely. It is used to build, configure and monitor networks containing large numbers of encryption units. Administration in CAdmin is separated from user traffic, and users authenticate using smart cards. Configuration changes are logged and can be audited afterwards. CAdmin runs on Linux and Windows and handles networks with thousands of encryption units.
Rule-based tunnel configuration
The administrator defines connection rules for the network endpoints using wildcards. CAdmin then generates the configuration for the entire VPN network automatically. This means complex topologies can be set up without configuring every connection manually.
Multiple users and roles
CAdmin supports multiple users with different permissions. Administrators have full access to the tool's features. Operators have read-only access, and can also restart network units.
Crypto Device Groups
Encryption units can be divided into groups that share a common configuration, covering administrators, approved certificate authorities (CAs), the NTP server and the log server. Settings are applied at group level rather than device by device.
